Family Ties

Gary Lee Hunter

February 21, 1939 – September 5, 2016

Gary Lee Hunter, 77, of Holiday, FL., passed away on September 5, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.  He came to Holiday in 1994 from Stafford, VA.  Gary worked for the Secret Service and then for the Treasury Department. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an excllent story teller.  He was a member of the First  United Methodist Church of Tarpon Springs. Gary is survived by his wife, Judy, his children:  Valerie, Jefferey & his wife Stephany, and Vickie; 10 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Florida National Cemetery September 8th, 2016 at 11:30  a.m.

HUNTER Pamela Sinnett (Rankin)

Died Wednesday 13 July 2016, aged 92, at the Garth House Nursing Home, after suffering for several years with dementia. Pam is survived by husband George, children David, Alastair, and Robin, and Caroline, grandchildren Simon, Oliver, Fred, Owen, and Tom, and Emily and Sophie, and great-grandchildren Rory and Cerys.
The family moved to Dorking in 1960 from London. Long active in St Martin’s Church. Pam was branch leader of the Mothers’ Union for many years, and she wrote up the lives of church members for the magazine.

Pam taught at the Dorking Institute, and then as a tutor for the Open University, specializing in history. After retirement she was an active participant in USA.

Pam’s interest in local history lead to her researching the life of William Mullins, the Pilgrim father, whose house and workplace are now memorialized in West Street. Her booklet on Mullins is available from the Dorking Museum.
